Jazz vocalist, pianist and flutist, Amanda Ekery plays a distinctive combination of traditional, contemporary and original music. The native Texan's compositions and arrangements range from greasy blues to introspective ballads. Amanda has performed at the Kennedy Center, Washington Women in Jazz Festival, Blue Room in Kansas City, Blue Note in Amsterdam, Italy, the Portland Jazz Festival and the Denton Arts and Jazz Festival. Her music contains varied influence from Carmen McRae, Led Zeppelin, Sara Serpa, Bill Evans, and Dinah Washington.

Amanda is an award-winning composer and vocalist, being selected for the 2015 Betty Carter Jazz Ahead Residency, an international competition for young jazz composers and performers. Nationally recognized as an outstanding jazz soloist (2011), Amanda earned the Mark of Excellence National Jazz Honors Outstanding Soloist Award. Amanda has also participated and performed her original work at the inaugural Amalfi Coast Music Festival Jazz Division with Sunny Wilkinson and Ellen Rowe in 2014, as well as the Keep an Eye Jazz Residency in Amsterdam where she worked with artists such as Becca Stevens and Avishai Cohen. Ms. Ekery was also honored with the Robert Cox Memorial Award at UNT for Outstanding Honors Student in the Arts and Humanities (2016).

Amanda grew up listening to classic rock in her Dad's garage, Motown at her grandma's house and the Beatles in her Mom's car. She has always enjoyed a diverse range of music and incorporates a variety of styles in her performances. She has performed pop, rock, jazz, opera and even mariachi music with the El Paso Opera Company, the El Paso Youth Jazz Ensemble, NEC Gospel Ensemble, UNT Jazz Singers, UNT Afro-Cuban and Brazilian Ensembles, Naked Lunch- Steely Dan Tribute Band and the UNT Mariachi Anguilas.

Ms. Ekery received her bachelor's degree in Jazz Studies with a minor in Music Theory from the University of North Texas, graduating with honors and Magna Cum Laude. While at UNT, Amanda studied voice with Rosana Eckert, classical piano with Liudmila Georgievskaya and arranging with Richard DeRosa. She is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Jazz Performance at the New England Conservatory in Boston.

Amanda loves premiering new works that challenge and expand her arranging, composing and vocal skills. Most recently, she has released "Some Short Songs"an album of original music exploring the Lydian Chromatic Concept. Upcoming projects include The Lomax Folk Project for which Amanda is the arranger, musical director and performer, and Musical Storytelling presentations at elementary schools across the US.

Caroline Kuhn grew up in the grit and bustle of the Upper West Side. She began her singing career at age four, recording for jingles and television.  As Caroline's voice became less marketable with the changing tides of the recording industry (and puberty), she joined the Young People's Chorus of New York City. There, she had the opportunity to travel the world performing contemporary music by composers such as Meredith Monk and Michael Gordon.  She attended LaGuardia High School of Music and Art and began learning tenor banjo to accompany her songwriting. While at New England Conservatory, Caroline has studied voice with Cristi Catt and Dominique Eade and continued to develop her theoretical musical intuition.

Elise Leavy is a singer and songwriter from the the north of California where the hills are green and the lakes are clean. Coming from a background of largely Beatles, she began writing songs at the age of 8 and has since began her endeavor to bring back the accordion to the folk world, through her own songs, pulling from the likes of Bob Dylan, Paul Simon, Leonard Cohen and other songwriters.
